About Arizona Z Best
Arizona Z Best is a local recommendation site. When you search for a plumber in Mesa or a roofer in Scottsdale, you usually want one good answer and a phone number — not twenty sponsored listings and a form. That is what we try to give you.
What we do
For each city and category we cover, we pick one business we think is worth calling first, explain our reasoning, and list other companies in the area underneath. Every page carries the phone number, address, hours and services so you can act without hunting for them.
We started with home services — plumbers, HVAC, roofers, electricians and the rest — because those are the searches where a bad answer costs people the most money. Over time we will add restaurants, coffee, bars, things to do, and the other categories that make up a useful guide to Arizona.
What we are not
We are not a contractor, and we do not perform any of the work described on this site. We are not a review platform, and we do not collect or host customer reviews.
We do check contractor licences against the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, and we tell you plainly whether a given licence was verified by us or simply reported by someone else. We also show the legal entity the licence is held under and when it expires. How that works.
We do not verify insurance, bonding or backgrounds, and we will not imply otherwise. Checking the ROC yourself before you hire is still free, takes a minute, and is worth doing — a licence we checked last month can lapse this month.
How we make money
Three ways, and we would rather tell you plainly than bury it.
- Featured Local Partners. A business can pay to be the featured partner for one city and category. There is only ever one per territory. These are labelled Sponsored or Featured Partner everywhere they appear.
- Advertising. We sell display advertising inventory through the Zen Advertise network. Ads are labelled and never placed above the recommendation on a page.
- Leads. Where a business has opted in, we pass on quote requests from people who fill in a form.
None of these decide our editorial picks. A business that pays us can also be our pick, and a business that pays us can also not be our pick — those are two separate facts, stored separately in our system, and we will not pretend otherwise. Read the full methodology.
Corrections
Business details change constantly. If something on this site is wrong — a number, an address, hours, or a business that has closed — there is a "Report incorrect information" link on every listing. We read all of them.
